A Man With A Plan

Now it’s time to start drawing up your plan.  Take the time to draw a scaled foot print, this way you’ll see how everything fits in the space.
I spent a few hours this weekend doing just that. I drew a foot print of the bathroom and saw just how everything is going to fit, plenty of room to get through the space without the walkways being to narrow or making the space feel tight.
I also drew an elevation, showing the view head on, standing in front of the vanities. I was able to see how the layout would look and adjusted the placement of all the elements, vanities, mirrors, light fixtures, medicine cabinets, etc.  For example,  I was able to see how the light fixture placement was going to look in relation to the sinks, among other things, and was able to make corrections to the plan.
It’s much less expensive to move lines on a drawing then to move electrical or plumbing after the fact.
